What's New in Version 3.9.583
- Quote Tweet support
- bug fixes and small improvements
Loved it before, glitchy now
Tweetdeck has always worked great for me on my desktop. However, over the past couple weeks, it’s become very glitchy. It will stay on the loading screen for five or ten minutes or fifteen minutes. I’ll close it down and start over and it does it again. I usually end up having to un-install and re-install the app in order to get it to get past the loading screen. I open tweetdeck on my work computer five days a week. This glitch usually happens a couple times a week. Tweetdeck still gets three stars because when it works, I love it.
My version has bugs; composing panel very flakey
It used to work fine; now Tweetdeck seems to be looking right through the Compose Tweet panel and clicks in that area are treated as clicks in the underlying tweets column, which usually results in opening a browser window instead of writing a post. When I AM able to write a post, often clicking the SEND button results in the "working" cursor and nothing happens until I quit again. The app's buggy or it doesn't like my OS (10.8.6). Of course, I don't like the new Quote feature that replaced editing a post for retweeting either, but that's what it is. But this crashing when I try to tweet something, that's messed up.
New bothersome features
I’ve always liked this app, but the latest update has a few annoying things that get in the way. First, the ‘x New Tweets’ badge that hovers over the top of tweets in a column when there are new tweets above. It’s sticky and won’t go away until you go back up. I don’t need this kind of notification. The colored dot is just fine. I can assume new tweets have come in if I’m scrolling down the list. Don’t add things that add no value to the app, please. Also the break in the timeline that shows newer tweets, a break, and older tweets. That thing is entirely unnecessary. Timelines should be timelines. Not gimmicks. Please fix this.
