TweetDeck makes it easier for publishers, marketers and power users to track the real-time conversations they care about. It brings more flexibility and insight to power users through a customizable layout that lets you keep up with the people and topics that matter most to you. And, you can join the conversation by tweeting, sharing photos and links to news stories, and more.
What's New in Version 3.9.583
- Quote Tweet support
- bug fixes and small improvements
While definitely heading in the right direction, I can’t help but walk away feeling there are some simple things that could be done to vastly improve it. Also, on a technical note- the application either has a memory leak or is bad at memory management.
Bottom line: I’m going to let the product mature a bit further before using it.
Bring back RT or Edit
I feel deceived by Twitter’s promise that functions would be the same when I updated my TweetDeck for Mac to this version. “Quote Tweet” was presented as something that would be “supported” - not a replacement for the RT or Edit choice. Without the ability to edit retweets, I have little use for TweetDeck. I realize I can do it manually, but I can shove my car instead of driving it, too. So what?!
Quote not Retweet
Extremely disappointed to see this application force me to quote a tweet instead of retweeting it. All the nifty features that made TweetDeck amazing have been stripped. Doesn’t use any bookmark service so I don’t miss tweet. The shrink a tweet function is gone. Facebook integration is gone. Go use a third-party app. Twitter has killed this one.
