*** Hi all, unfortunately the changes to Twitter mean that Twiku can no longer post tweets. Poor old Twiku never sold enough to warrant any more time being devoted to it so instead of removing it from the store I'm making it free. I hope you all enjoy it! ***

If you love using Twitter, but need to spice up your tweets, you need Twiku for iPhone and iPod Touch. Twiku is the app that turns your tweets into pure poetry. Literally! After writing hundreds of tweets, they all start to sound the same. Boring, right? Twiku livens things up by helping you turn your tweets into beautiful Haiku poems.

Twiku was developed with Twitter in mind. Since Haiku poems are all about packing a lot of power and meaning into just a few syllables, they're never boring, and perfect for tweeting. If you're not sure how to start, Twiku has a built-in tutorial that shows you what Haiku is and how to build one.

There are four styles of Haiku, the original Japanese form, and three western forms; and Twiku knows them all. While you're composing, the app continually monitors your progress, and figures out which type of Haiku you're writing. With a built-in 120,000 word dictionary to draw from, and the ability to count syllables and ignore hashtags, Twiku will tell you exactly what you need to finish your poem.

If your muse should abandon you partway through your Haiku (and it happens to the best of us), you can save your masterpiece -in -progress as a draft, and come back to it when your inspiration returns. When you're finished, you can post your poem to Twitter, straight from the app. Or, if you like, you can skip Twitter altogether and take it right to email.

Now that you're published, you can go off in search of inspiration for your next literary feat; or just sit back and let Twiku bring it to you by searching and downloading poems that other people have tweeted.

All the world's a stage, and with Twiku on your iPhone or iPod Touch you've just become one of the players. Twiku has made you a poet, and now it's time to let the world know it!

This could easily have been a 5 star app. If you enjoy haiku and Twitter this app will delight you. Experts probably don't need it but those who do haiku just for fun will find it a joy. Just the fact that it exists and makes writing easier inspires me to write haikus more often. I also enjoy the haikus from others that it collects This is all good. 5 stars going here.
On the other hand it lacks the ability to reply to the collected haikus (- a piece of a star) AND it adds a link to the program page on the web to EVERY haiku you post to Twitter. This is very spammy. It will limit my use of the program until they provide some way of disabling it. I do not want to appear to be spamming my followers. Minus 2 big stars at the least!

Great Haiku Helper

I've been using Twiku for what seems like a year and it's one of my favorite apps. It provides a nice and straightforward description of the elements of haiku and a description of the types of haikus. This is a great app for .99, it has an elegant interface and has helped me immensely in writing and keeping track of my haikus.

This is a must buy for any haiku writer.

Great job.
