Send Tweets, direct message and much more using AppleScript!
Twitter Scripter is an agent that provides simplified access to the Twitter API directly from AppleScript. With Twitter Scripter you can send Tweets and direct message, search Twitter, retrieve timelines of tweets, retweets, mentions and more.
Twitter Scripter has no interface, and runs in the background waiting for AppleScripts to ask it to do something.
What's New in Version 1.01
* Bug fixes for 10.9
* Twitter Scripter requires 10.8+
Seems to do what it says!
I just wrote an applesscript app to automatically tweet out text from notes of PowerPoint Mac slides. From the work I did on a previous plugin doing the same thing on Windows, I knew the hard part was going to be actually sending the tweets, but Twitter Scripter made it easy — thanks!
Does nothing on El Captian
I love the concept, but this does nothing for me on my Mac Mini running El Capitan. The application runs, is visible in Activity Monitor, but does nothing when I attempt any of the scripting examples on the web site. There also appears to be no support for this application, or at least no links on their website that I could find.
I use this tool to easily script my alerting engine using Twitter. The tools works great and it takes advantage of built-in Mavericks support for Twitter account, so no need for 3rd-party Twitter clients. Kudos to David for providing this useful program!
