From the creator of SpellTower, comes a new and completely original word game!
Anagrams meets Word Search, with a sprinkle of Crosswords.

Typeshift is the modern anagram puzzle; re-imagined from the ground up, combining wordplay, modern game design, and a mobile-first approach.

In most anagram games, you search for new combinations within a single word, but in Typeshift, you search within three to five words stacked & scrambled up together.

Shift columns of letters up and down as you try to spell words in the center row. Play continues until you have used all letters in a puzzle at least once.

Special Clue Puzzles combine Crosswords with Anagrams as you match clever clues provided by Typeshift's various puzzle authors.

- Daily Word Game Play with Global Leaderboards -

Typeshift features a free daily challenge with global leaderboards. The easiest challenge for the week appears on Monday, and progressively more challenging puzzles build throughout the week.

As always, thanks so much for your support!

Fatal flaws

The game mechanic is really good - it's fun to manipulate the rows of letters to make words. However, the game has a couple serious flaws.

First, the hints aren't especially useful. Having one slider moved isn't actually enough in most cases when I'm stuck.

Second, and this is the really big flaw, is the word choices. Some of the words that the game recognizes are ridiculously obscure. (The word for "lake" in Welsh, for example. As a plural, no less.) Also, it recognizes some "words" that are not, in fact, words at all. They certainly aren't in the built-in dictionary, and I haven't found them in my other dictionaries either (OED, American Heritage).

Part of the fun of a game like this is to finally have that jumble of letters resolve into a word you know but didn't think of, inspiring the feeling of "Why didn't I think of that sooner?". This is completely destroyed when parts of the solutions include words that no typical player would expect to know, or simply gibberish.

A nice idea, but the execution leaves something to be desired.

Clue puzzles are great, but costly

For me, the standard game mode got boring pretty quickly. I enjoyed the clue puzzle samples a lot, but $2 for a pack of 20 puzzles was more than I'm willing to spend. Based on the time the first 5 took, I'm not willing to pay that much for about 2 hours of entertainment. But for those with deeper pockets, I think the clue puzzles are a great addition to the word game world!

New Favorite Game!!!!

I can't put my phone down after downloading this game! The in app purchases are well worth it! I love everything about this game and hope to see more games that are challenging and just like this one!!!
