Does the job ... Mostly
Initial setup is tricky if your real remote isn't working, so set it up before your remote breaks.
This app is a good backup. The real remote is easier to use and does everything - this app has a few limits. But it comes in handy while you await delivery of the replacement for the broken remote. I don't see any reason to use this if your remote is still working. Get it, set it up, and hope you never need it.
Not great, loses connection
Like most things with AT&T this is questionable, at best. I use this with a three TV set up and when my phone goes to screen lock it constantly loses connection to a specific receiver. So you have to close the app and restart, and often times reconnect to the specific receiver. That takes 1-2 minutes every time. Poorly designed, poorly executed, and there's no reason it should be this bad. Other remotes I have on my phone don't act this way at all.
Am I missing something?
It's called easy remote, right? Where is the remote? I see speech and gesture, but no actual "remote" with the same configuration as the actual remote you get with your box. I've gone through all the options in this app, and I just don't see it. I MUST be missing something, because I cannot imagine them making an "easy remote" with no actual remote. If I'm not missing something, this app is worthless and the people who created it really need to use a little common sense.
