Eat what you like, when you like.
Honestly, this app is convenient and one of my best downloads! It has a perfect set up and all the drivers they send are sweet. People are saying that there were problems with cancelation before the restaurant excepts the order but that never happened to me or anyone else I know. If you have an issue with the fact that it doesn’t refund after the restaurant excepts it, then that’s a different story, because the restaurant already started making it so how can Uber eats just cancel it without loosing money themselves or the restaurant loosing money AND time... duh. Uber eats is awesome and I highly recommend getting it.
With all that said, there apparently were some problems with it that I myself haven’t experienced, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that didn’t happen. On the other hand it could mean that it was the persons own fault, that Uber eats fixed it, or that the person didn’t understand the app fully. There is for sure a problem with customer service though. A friend of mine was missing something in her order she couldn’t contact the driver, so she called the restaurant who said they sent it, then calling Uber eats who didnt help them at all. But bright side if there aren’t any problems (ie my experience) customer service doesn’t matter!
Anyway, overall great app helpful for all occasions! Unless some of this would be an issue of course. But for me “❤️❤️❤️” all the way
Horrible customer service
I’m deleting this app and never using this service again. I was adding items into my cart when plans changed and I decided to meet friends elsewhere. As I started deleting the carted items, I must’ve hit “Complete Order”, as that’s what happened. This app is set up so that one cannot cancel an order. Oh yes...there’s a way to stop delivery of the food....but you’re still paying for it. You have to go to the help screen, select cancel order, then be told to go to the receipts icon on the app main page, tap it, select cancel order, be shown a cookie that states that once a restaurant has “accepted” the order, canceling is impossible. Then you can choose to either keep the order, or call a number, which places you on hold for 5 minutes, after which you are connected to a less-than-helpful person who, after listening to your complaint informs you that since the order has been accepted and being prepared, there’s “nothing we can do”. This is totally unacceptable to me, and I hope it is to the rest of you, so here is how you ACTUALLY get you’re charge reversed:
Call your bank/credit card company, dispute the charge, explain it’s because of bad/untimely customer service with no product/services received, wait 12 hours or so...and voila. Charges reversed. To ensure this never happens again, go to your Uber eats app, delete it, and go back to Grubhub like I did. Problem solved. Bad Form, Uber eats...you just lost another customer.
