I'd give it a 5, but....
The app itself is great for the most part. The only issue I have with it, is the fact that according to Über, my workplace doesn't exist. It takes my driver to some random neighborhood behind the area where I work. So far I've had decent experiences with my drivers...except for one. I only use this app to go back and forth from work and home, so it usually costs me roughly between $7 and $9 per trip. This one driver kept the meter (or whatever they use) going all the way from picking me up, to dropping me off and my house, and all the way to another town. The total came out to be $44. I've already contacted support, and even got an email back within a couple hours. I replied back to the email with the information she asked for, but I have yet to hear back. It's been almost 3 days now, since the email. No refund, no nothing.... Highly disappointed.
Love using Uber, app needs to be more precise with the location
When I learned about uber, I didn't hesitate to sell my car to avoid extra cost of maintenance and insurance. With Uber I can get to my destination fast especially those that needs to take a lot of bus ride. Had past issue with some drivers but uber was proactive and puts an effort to investigate and make a refund if its necessary.
But the App needs a little improvement especially with the pin, as it sometimes mess around the location. it doesn't automatically pin exactly where I am, and needs to really zoom in the map to make sure I pin the correct destination. And lately, my destination keeps dropping off once the driver already picked me up, so I have to put my destination again. It's been like that for my past 5 rides.
Works better than taxi except
I was at a strip hotel in Las Vegas. This was the first time I was using Uber, I needed a ride to airport for my flight back. When the driver arrived he told me Uber doesn't provide service to LV Airport. I had to request a Lyft instead costing me more.
This could have been avoided since I had already picked my destination when I requested the ride. All the driver had to do was cancel and give a reason that he gave me. But he told me that Uber doesn't tell him the exact like cation to drop off, just something close by. The is gap between what the customers request and what the drivers are communicated needs to be bridged.
Other than this it is very cheap and quick as compared to a taxi if you are in a big city. I'm will keep using it.
