The app is easy to use and intuitive, much more so than other food delivery apps I’ve used. It’s amazing how quick and seamless the entire process is. The average delivery takes around 30 minutes, and if available, instant delivery is even faster. I’ve had some orders deliver within minutes. The restaurant selection is really good, and the app does a good job of narrowing down what kind of cuisine you want. Sometimes the selection choice is actually overwhelming, I wish the app could narrow your choices even further by providing their top picks out of all restaurants. How about a feature where you can shake your phone, and a random meal gets picked? That said, I’ve discovered a lot of new restaurants in the city just from using Uber Eats. So far I’ve used Eats in San Francisco, Chicago, NYC, Toronto and it’s been great every time!
Wish I could give zero stars
I ordered mcdonalds a half mile down the road at 1245 with a delivery time of 115. At 1 the delivery time is updated to 140. I decide I no longer want my food at this time due to the wait. I could walk to the store and back with this kind of service. The app does not let me cancel my order and I have to talk to customer support. I am informed that my order has already been made by the restaurant and I cannot cancel. I state that if my food has already been made then I should have the food within 10 minutes and not 40. I am assured the food will be fresh but for that to be true the food would not have been made and I should be able to cancel. Either Uber or their restaurant partners are greedy and lie to their customers. This is unacceptable and I will never order from Uber eats again. I will recommend friends order from their competitors and I will do the same. There was horrible customer service and I hope to never experience such poor service again. I still love Uber for rides but this experience almost had me considering lyft for my go to ride service as well due to the poor handling of my situation
Service AND customer service are the actual worst
I have never seen anything so ridiculous in my life. I've had an order cancelled because the delivery person couldn't be bothered to try me at my house (??) And decided to call me and hang up instead. then, as my lunch was cancelled, I saw that "next time I would be charged." I contact them asking them not to change me "next time" because I didn't do anything. I was here, waiting for my food. I asked for the record of this order to be deleted. They couldn't bother reading my message asking for this, and kept telling me that they're sorry for the trouble and can assure me that this time I wasn't charged. I simplified my words, explained again and again, and long story short, I've been doing this back and forth with them for the past 4 hours. They just cannot be bothered to read the messages that they are replying to. You'd think that a company getting so much negative press and feedback recently would try harder to care about the users. Guess not. Exhausting. Go with any other app/option, for real.
