This app is designed as a supplemental for students to practice ear training in music theory. Currently, the app has 4 different training modules:
- Sight Reading
- Intervals (Melodic and Harmonic)
- Chords (Regular, 7th, basic progressions)
- Dictation (Rhythmic, melodic)
Right now, we have 2 modes for each section:
- Practice Mode (untimed, score is tracked)
- Survival Mode (timed, end score is recorded in high scores)
In both modes you will be practicing your ability to recognize notes and note formations.
Supported Devices: iPhone 5, 5s, 6, 6+ **This app is optimized for iPhone 5 or higher. Requires iOS 7.1 or later.

Fantastic Advanced Music Theory App
I'm a 40 something musician, have played for enjoyment most of my life and never taken advanced music theory. I love this app and use it daily but it's going to take a lot of practice before I can use many of the features. I wish there was an option to reduce the number of measures for the rhythm and dictation exercises and a feature to turn off the timer. The same goes for the chord progression exercises. An option to start with two or three chords instead of two measures and remove the timer would be helpful for users just starting out. Thank you.
Many great options here to train your ear.
I love that the interval training changes the tonic pitch every time so your sense of home pitch changes and makes it more challenging.
I have to deduct a star because the dictation doesn't have any settings to lower the amount of notes played. It is far too many notes to remember to dictate. It would be helpful to allow settings which reduce the number of played notes and also a change in meter to spice things up.
Overall, a solid ear training app.
Really helpful, and great for ear training!
This app is awesome! I just had a question about it. Under the “melodic” option of “dictation”, the melodies played often times contain a B4, whereas the keyboard given only goes as low as middle C. Since I’m unable to play the B4, I get the round wrong. Is there a way to access the B4 that I’m not getting, or was there just a mishap with the keyboard?
Thank you so much! Again, I love this app!
