What's New in Version 2.0.15
-Resolved issues with duplicate flight status notifications
Good app, but missing important things
Overall, I like the app. However, it is missing a couple of easy things, and there is no reason they should be other than oversight.
- need to add my mileage plus number to an imported reservation. Hey, I'm logged in to my mileage plus account on this thing, it should just be a matter of clicking GO. Nope, I had to find it and manually enter it. The app should have the ability to just add the number.
- ok, so I have upgraded to premier which required I enter my credit card info and check out. Then I had to complete check in, along with adding a checked bag for $25. Which required that I enter in the credit card info a second time. This should be put in a car or similar and have a single checkout with one info entry. Hell, it should even know the CC info I already have on the browser based checking.
The newest revision of this app unfortunately disappoints. I had many problems with the previous version, and even kept writing to support in hopes of improvement. I was excited to see the new app, thinking a lot of the problems would be resolved. That did not happen.
The app gives up to 100 notifications for a single flight--yes, I did count them. AND they can only be deleted individually.
Now it is impossible to add a boarding pass to the Passbook if you have iOS.
While the flight status cards appear on the home screen, each individual flight must be addressed if you want flight status notifications (all 100 per flight) regarding delays and gate changes.
The app will display a badge that there's a notification. However once the app is open, there's no indication of where to locate the notice or how to read it. Of course it doesn't pop up on the home screen, that would be far too simple.
If it's so terribly impossible to build useful features in an app, why is it that other airlines have accomplished the feat?
Still needs work
Inconsistent experiences using this app on a recent trip to SF. Outbound, I was able to check-in using the app, get a mobile boarding pass and save it to my iPhone’s Passbook. All good for this trip and happy to see United is finally offering features Delta has offered for months.
Coming home, check-in using the app. No mobile boarding pass. I can e-mail myself a printable copy which was no use since I had no printer access. Day of flight, the app couldn’t display boarding pass. i had to wait in line to get to a kiosk to print out a manual boarding pass.
Very frustrating especially when trying to get through in a busy airport.
