multitimbral, au3, and cpu efficient
Multitimbral, this will do a whole edrum kit. Wasn’t so obvious to me from the website, but ‘sound select’ is shifting you thru the kit. The menu option will change the whole kit you are using but all the knobs are independent, E.g. distortion up on one drum does not affect others.
Au3. Yep, working here. Only tested thus far in Modstep. I appreciate that the drums can be triggered by any octave. I.e. C is always your kick drum. C1, c0, whatever.
Cpu. Full drum beat going, I’m just hitting like 2% cpu per Audiobus. 9.7 iPad 2017
Compare and Contrast to other similarly styled: Not as wide an array of sounds available compared to the Ruismakers, and can’t mix and match kit pieces, tho with this light of cpu hit, you could mix and match kits with another instance. Not sure it adds much if you already have Ruismaker, but it may be a little easier to dial in for classic drum machine sounds.
Very cool drum machine
I love the ease of use of the sequencer and also the built-in sounds. You have a cool groove happening in a matter of seconds.
Works really well as an Audio Unit, but it would also be nice to see the stand-alone version also getting AudioBus or IAA support. That way the built-in sequencer can be better integrated in a workflow where it will be able to be send through external effects in case you don’t want to use an external sequencer in combination with the AU.
Really good but...
I’d like to be able to open the saved loops in cakewalk so I can add synth, keys etc. But still working with it and it’s exactly what I was looking for!
