The 'unreserved' app provides access to the 'unreserved' sound art project in Miami, Florida. This project is a collaborative effort between Fordistas and sound artist Halsey Burgund.
The perennial growth of Miami Art Week has in many ways created a culture of inaccessibility for both artists and spectators. Within a restricted visual landscape artists strive to showcase their work in increasingly curated spaces, either in galleries or on Wynwood wallspace, while the public is limited to the role of spectator. Until now…
With 'unreserved', the public and artists alike are invited to surpass these limitations by downloading the free app and contributing to an evolving sound collage of voices, street sounds and musical elements. Through the contribution of his or her own voice, each individual will have the chance to participate in the creation of a sonic work of art that will form a collective representation. Consider it a form of audio graffiti, an urban soundtrack, or an expanded version of street art.
