Ratings and Reviews
to the alum and sports fans
Perhaps this app does not contain much regarding athletics because athletics have their own app (see: Oregonducks). Oregon's athletic department owns all sorts of rights to anything regarding their teams, and it would not be surprising if they had opted not to share their sports stuff with this app. Why would anyone choose to download the Oregonducks app when this app would then be twice as functional? Furthermore, I don't think the alumni were part of the target audience for this app, though I am sure the alumni association would be wise to consider their own app. I think the app is meant to help kids in their day to day campus life, not the sports fans and alumni living outside of Eugene.
Sure this app can "walk you" places on campus, but as a student, this app is almost completely inane. There is no way to check your meal points, no option for registering for classes (which is very competitive and deserves an on-the-go option so students can access duck web at the exact time that they are allowed to begin requesting classes) and surprisingly, given the popularity of our football team, there is no sports feature. Essentially, this is not really useful unless you want to get walked places on campus, read lists of campus events or look at photos of students.
This app is great but it needs a little work. I've used this app on campus and the GPS needs work and I would like to see list directions. I'm happy this app is geared toward day-to-day UO users and will work great for those just visiting for a day or two. I LOVE the inclusion of the fight song and hope the creators will add the lyrics. I want to be able to add things to my 'to do' list.
