Upsize puts your music on the big screen. Don't just hear the sound, see your album art upsized on your TV! Do all your friends have an AppleTV, but you've just got a cable? Upsize can make you cool again.
Explore your music library or choose a favorite playlist with one touch from within the app, or queue up iPod music using another app and then switch over to Upsize to get the album art and track info up on your TV.
To use this app, you will need:
☆ An iPhone 4 or an iPod touch (4th Generation) running iOS 4.1 or later. There is another version of Upsize for iPad.
☆ An Apple Component AV Cable or an Apple Composite AV Cable to connect your iPhone or iPod touch to your TV.
☆ Alternatively, Upsize also works great with the Apple VGA adaptor to connect to a monitor or a projector, using an audio cable from the headphone socket.

Hits the mark, delivers what the built-in iTunes app overlooked
This is a handy app that works exactly as described, and is actually cooler than the author's own description. I wanted to display album art on an external monitor, found it works perfectly with my devices (iPhone 4S and Kiva composite/component video adapter). It sees your music library information that iTunes sees (music, audio books, your playlists, etc.) and lets you build a temporary playlist on the fly. Plays in the background, loses video when backgrounded (like other video-out apps) and resumes video flawlessly when it regains focus. It doesn't mirror the iPhone screen and instead provides a simple, elegant display similar to the (1st gen white and aluminum) AppleTV layout. Art, album, artist and title shown on the external monitor are unaffected by iPhone rotations and other activity among the app's configuration and selection screens. With some added capabilities to customize it a bit, e.g. like how it deals with alert sounds and maybe a few different screen layouts that use more pixels it would be even better. I agree with the prior reviewers about the need for just a few add'l features to make this a must have app for use with car navi screens.
Does it's job, could use some improved features.
I use this app in the car, video'd out to my in-dash navigation screen. It would be amazing if we had the option to select different font styles and sizes. Also, a clock would be amazing. And maybe even swipe gestures to change the music without looking down at the phone to find the button.
This is a great app! Now to make it an excellent app, you could mirror pandora streams through the tv-out. That would be fantastic. I keep writing to pandora to have them embed that functionality into their app but they just aren't listening to those of us with video screens.
