Wonderful overhaul of this app!
I've had this app for quite a while. Originally there was very little you could do with it other than to receive invitations and messages on the go. There was no ability to search jobs or do anything else. When the app developers finally overhauled it to its current state, I was ecstatic. I love it now. Being able to search, save, send proposals, etc. from the app is great.
The only thing I would suggest - and why I deducted a star - is to add the ability to check your hours, fixed payments, etc. and be able to request available funds for deposit to your bank or PayPal account without having to go to the desktop site. Otherwise, this is a vast improvement from the previous version.
Wish every app was this perfect.
I love everything about it. Syncs flawlessly with the desktop app and browser, so whatever device I'm using at the moment works just fine.
I really like that it's so easy to make a proposal through the app or send a quick message to your open jobs.
I do wish it had a reminder feature to tell you that your deadline is approaching or you need to close out a job. Some people might find this annoying... So perhaps they all could be off by default, and you only check the ones you want to be notified about. Just a thought.
I'm not a huge fan of 20% off the top, but Upwork is honest about it from the beginning and I understand the need for $ to develop it even more and host all the storage. No hidden fees later on (well, besides taxes).
Easy to use
So far no problems here, except I wish I didn't have to use iCloud Drive for photos. I mainly use it for messaging, but when I need to submit a proposal and want to attach portfolio examples I've had to save them from my Behance page, then add them to iCloud Drive, THEN go back to this app to upload them. Not sure why, must be some behind the scenes stuff.
