Missing account information
All of my account information is missing on both the website and the mobile app. This includes my checking account, credit card and different types of insurance that I have with USAA. I have tried calling to see what happened and was first told the wait time to talk to a representative was 1 hour, then they ended the phone call due to "unforeseen circumstances". So as of right now, this bank's website and app indicate my life savings and credit card balances are not present and accounted for at USAA, and there is no one at USAA that I can talk to to see what is going on. To date, I have had mostly good experiences dealing with USAA and using this app. But this experience has certainly soured my opinion.
Another Step Up, Another Star
We're getting there! With v7.7, USAA made a big step toward a simple and universal app.
Usability has improved, as much of the cruft has been eliminated. Now to eliminate the voice help feature, voice & face login, web-based portions, and whatever 'Deals' is supposed to be… I mean, aside from the fact that most have no desire to visit a Boston Market, the brand logos are scaled improperly and thus, distorted. Right off the bat, though, you notice the app is snappier with all actions.
We still see design language issues here and there, but USAA seems to be better defining them with each iteration.
Touch ID support was added, and many web-based portions were removed, so they are listening to feedback, but there is still a lot of work to be done on what I still believe to be USAA's weakest link in their chain of offerings.
- Ditch ALL web-based portions
- Ditch Deals and Voice Help
+ Add Help Chat feature like Simple
- Ditch excessive menus
Old school design and lacking features
The USAA app is functional, but that's about the best I can say. The design look archaic with ads for other services littering the UI. Unlike every other bank app it doesn't ask you to login when you open it, only after selecting an option. This gets old fast, why not just let me login upfront since I'm going to need to anyway?
I have never managed to get check deposit to work, and always have to deposit it to another bank ( Chase app works well for this) and then transfer over.
Please support the ability to enable a quick account balance view without requiring sign in (like Chase and Citi do)
