We’ve updated the navigation bar at the bottom of the USAA Mobile App. Now you have quick access to make mobile deposits, transfer funds, pay your bills and more. Check out additional options in the funds transfer menu, including sending money to anyone.
Good but has some flaws
The app as a whole is fine. I do notice I don't get an available funds balance listed for my checking account. So all I see is total balance and the hold balance. Breaking out a calculator is fine but it seems like this should be a standard function. How much money do I actually have available right now? Also, there's some sort of bug that when certain transactions line up it sometimes shows my account go into a negative balance on the app but after I verify it outside the app and on my calculator I'm fine. Not worth the stress though. Other than that it's a secure app and you can access mostly everything through it. Mobile deposits have been a staple for me for years. And with this new version it is easier to make a deposit and transfer funds. Just wished they fixed a couple things.
Scheduled transactions have a mind of their own
I have been with USAA for decades. I've used their "scheduled transactions" tool to budget for years. In the past three months, my scheduled transactions (that are supposed to be placeholders so I can budget for the month) have turned into transfers to other accounts, without any action on my part. The result is that I have double money being removed from my main checking account (one is the real transaction that goes to a 3rd party, and one that is the "scheduled transaction" that has transferred itself into another one of my savings or checking accounts. It seems to be random. Has happened 10 times in the last three months. Anyone else have this problem? I have a ticket with IT, but they have been "working on it" for three months. Getting frustrated that I can't depend on USAA anymore.
So close to perfect...
Since I have been a USAA member, this app has unceasingly thrived and evolved. The new update now looks and functions beautifully and the new check cashing tool is a HUGE improvement from where it was! GREAT JOB! However in trying one of the new bells and whistles (Zelle) I ran into one tiny problem: Every time I reached the terms and conditions page of Zelle (after the interactive intro) the app instantaneously and consistently crashed without fail. While it really is an extra feature I probably don't need yet, the inner techie in me still wants to explore!
Nonetheless USAA, keep knocking it out of the park, this app looks phenomenal and works great in the end. I can't wait to see what it will all look like after all of the kinks settle!
