This app has sucked for the last yr. when changes were made that took away multiple cks being able to be dpst'd, then the flash wasn't a choice and now chasing the check around from over a foot away trying to get the CR to center in the square... I am fed up. USAA is an amazing bank but they have dropped the ball when it comes to this. And seeing that they have no branches around, you're pretty much screwed. I just dpst'd 4 cks in a credit union bank via mobile and was done in less than 2 mins. I can't get one ck in USAA tonight- it takes the picture fine- even I can read the #'s without glasses, yet it says it can't read numbers. Last week it was - can't find location although it was turned on. I have had to constantly delete app and reinstall. Also, after calling I'm now told that the new app does not support older phones like windows based and evidently my Apple 4s. Come on USAA, you can do better than this!
This app is still better than the apps of the 5 other banks, credit unions, and credit card companies I use... with one exception. Unlike every other financial institution I use, with the USAA app you can’t get immediate push notifications when a charge to your credit card is authorized. Best you can do is configure a push notification or SMS for when a charge _posts_ to your account, which is usually 2-4 days later. With every other card I have it’s immediate, and it’s those notifications that have helped me catch fraudulent charges in the past. It’s making me consider cancelling my new card.
Also, a recent update unnecessarily displays your entire savings/checking account and routing numbers on the main screen. Hope you don’t want to use this app in public!
Also I just noticed credit card transactions go missing the evening they post. My balance due will be updated but the most recent transactions disappear until after midnight when they reappear.
Also the "contact us" link in the app just shows a blank page, and the "provide app feedback" link says they won't respond, so the only feedback I can provide about these problems is via passive aggressive App Store reviews.
11/17: this is becoming quite a saga. All the issues are still there + now (after another update) the deposits fxn barely managed to capture a check image after 18-20 tries. If what USAA is trying to achieve is to annoy customers, they’re doing an xlnt job of it.
11/11 update: Looks like an intern worked late last night to undo some changes that customers found problematic - I can now see the old, much more useful presentation of info, IF I dig past the opening screen to another one. App now seems slow, jerky & cobbled together but at least the info is there somewhere.
The real question is still why an app that worked fine needed to be changed? Just roll back the last 2-3 updates and give us that ui.
Original (1 star): Why can I no longer see ALL my accounts in the financial summary? I have 2 deposit accounts + 2 credit cards but am now forced to choose just 3 of these to display. Used to see them all. ALSO: What happened to displaying insurance / premium info on the summary? The opening screen suddenly got way less useful.
The last updates are a huge downgrade. Please reconsider.
