This quick reference Emergency and Safety Procedures App is designed to assist faculty, staff, and students when confronted with on-campus incidents that threaten personal safety or the campus community as a whole. It is designed to afford quick access.

The University of South Carolina Beaufort is committed to the safety and well being of the entire university community. By taking the proper preventative and emergency actions we can all help attain this goal.

The guidelines in this app are not intended to be comprehensive, but are meant as an aid to taking the safest steps recommended in the event the associated risk is present. The USCB Emergency Operations Plan and The Emergency Policy and Guidelines documents should be reviewed for more detailed information.

Please direct comments and questions regarding the Emergency and Safety Guide or any safety concerns to the USCB Department of Public Safety (DPS) at 843-208-8911. For additional information, please visit DPS online at

The original version of the app was developed by USCB Computational Science student Bill Glesias under the supervision of Dr. Brian Canada, associate professor of Computational Science. Final refinements to the app's interface and user experience were implemented by Dr. Canada with graphic design assistance from Erin Cline, a USCB student majoring in Studio Art. Dr. Canada remains responsible for ongoing maintenance of the app.
