Potential

Awesome graphics and music! Vector Pop certainly has an atmosphere that takes you back. The gameplay is enjoyable, but what could be a GREAT game is hampered by the opponent triangle. On a few occasions I've been trapped by obstacles and forced to collect a beat, resulting in slowdowns and lost games as the opponent reaches the top of the screen. Focusing attention on this speedy opponent (instead of the otherwise fantastic gameplay) is just a bummer. I'd love to see it as an optional feature.

Developer Response

Hey Jen! Thanks for such good feedback! Im so glad you see the potential! ow yeah! The opponent is meant to split your attention/focus from just concentrating on dodging obstacles to also concentrating on where in the game your opponent is and what speed you need to be. Beats are serious points, but sometimes you need to choose safety over your desire for a beat! This, together with the dual attention split, is the real difference between Vector Pop and another simple platformer, which is why its harder than it looks hence the frustration! But on the flip side, when the game gets faster and faster, those slow moments you have when you get a beat are a massive relief from the crazy speeds you will gain! this makes sure the game's challenge evolves from wanting to be fast in the beginning to wanting to be slower later in the game (usually after 30/40 beats) it changes your focus. I hope that explains my idea - so happy you wrote! thank you so much for the support and love! your review was great! x Bez (actually that said, may consider it a future difficulty feature!) Xx Bez
