What's New in Version 6.22.0
We've fixed a few bugs to make Venmo even better.
A friend and I download this app so I could 'easily pay' for him for the items I purchased. We both downloaded and went through the steps so we could transfer, and receive the funds. Within 20 min he had sent his request, and I paid right away. We knew there would be a short waiting time before he would receive his money.
Four (4) days later, He still had not gotten the money. I looked on my app, and it did not even have an account of me sending the money. I immediately called my bank, to ask if the money had been taken out, and it HAD! Needless to say, I panicked thinking that I had lost over $500! Shortly after, I had been sent a email from Venmo stating that 'Suspisous Activity' was noticed on my account, and they 'Froze' it. I was asked to give them more detail about the transaction, which I answered right away.
I can't imagine there reasoning behind my 'Suspisous Activity', and asked for an explanation, which I did not recieve, but instead got a terse response stating that they 'unfroze' my account, and if I 'Continued to engage in Suspisous Activity' they would freeze my account again! I still have no idea what they are talking about!
My friend had to wait another Four (4) days for the money, (which had now been out of my account for a week) to be transfered into his account, and will now still have to wait a few days for it to go to his bank.
I am deleting this app, and I would warn anyone against using it!
No more writing checks or having to cash checks.
No more worrying about how much cash I have on my person. I can go out have someone pick the tab up and settle up right then and there paying what I owe with venmo. A little getting used to at first . I didn't realize I had to transfer funds I received in venmo to my account. Once I figured that out... this has been the best thing since apple pie.
Worst money app ever
I hate how this app makes it all social and let's everyone know your business when it comes to money. I used the cash app originally. I had someone pay me through this thing and I needed quick cash. Unlike the cash app, which transfers funds immediately and only takes 1% of your money, which I don't mind at this point, realizing it's totally worth it compared to Vinmo 😒. This silly app takes 1 business day to make that money available in my bank account. Unbelievable, not everyone wants to keep their money in this app. I'd rather have it in my bank account asap, thank you very much.
