What's New in Version 7.6.0
The truly easiest way to pay your friends (and get paid) now works with iOS 11. We also fixed a couple of things to make Venmo prettier.
Convenient and no issues
Recently started commuting downtown and needed a couple 10-ride passes for a partial month. Early mornings are hard enough and knew I'd miss the train buying at the station. Downloaded the app and was wary of the existing reviews, but it's been incredibly easy to use from my iPhone. Always laugh when they ask everyone to tap the screen (it changes color when you tap the video playing on the open and active ticket - suppose that's how they catch folks trying to skip paying). Certainly a recommend for anyone who likes an easy way to buy, store, and use tickets.
My account was frozen so I called customer service to see why and they told me that I would have to speak to an account specialist to reopen my account. Fair enough. As it would turn out they only will contact you via email and do not have a customer service number where I could speak with an actual person regarding an account that my personal bank account is hooked up to. To add to the uneasiness, the only way to reinstate my account is to send a picture of a government issued photo ID over to a group of people that I can't speak with to unfreeze my account that I believe was frozen wrongly to begin with. Very frustrating especially since it's a Friday and I most likely will not be addressed until next week.
One point of improvement
I love Venmo. A lot of my friends use it, which makes it super convenient to have an account with. I’ve only recently ran into the issue of having the account locked after a certain dollar limit was reached for the week. This seems weird (and a bit unnecessary in 2017) to me and has hindered my use of the app. If/when that issue is resolved I will recommend Venmo to anyone and everyone!!!
