Couldn't wait for game to be over.
I grew tired of the storyline and found it rather silly and all over the place. Map was totally useless. I would have given the game 4 stars if I could have just teleported. Map would say that an area was complete, yet not hint that you needed to go back to that area to start a new cutscene. So, you end up searching all over the map trying to figure out where you're supposed to go. The game designers must have thought that part of the fun for us players is to go through a gazillion load screens. Example: ohmigosh, you have the reporter with you at the lab...he tells you to meet him at the train station...there he tells you his news breaking information (roll eyes) and you are then clued to go all the way back to the lab again! I mean...what???
And the ending was absurd. I must have fallen asleep through one or more of the many cut-scenes that made this conclusion to the mystery make any sense...and how the reporter was able to solve it. A dream? I say he's the killer. Dude, I would have killed them all just to be through with this game.
This was mostly a very good game, but I'll bet it was phenom on the big screen. Most of the things I didn't like about it had to do with the adaptation to iPhone and/or technical aspects such as slow loading time between scenes. One of the problems with iPhone adaptation was it kept kicking me out of screens I didn't want to exit out of, because the "exit margins" around the edges of the screen were too wide I guess. Also, the graphics seemed a bit too small overall for the phone screen. The storyline was interesting. I would have appreciated a hint button sometimes (theres only one in the HO screens). Kind of ended too abruptly, though, and no bonus play. Great buy for $1 though!
Too expensive for weak gameplay
The game seems ok. But the delay between screen transitions is awful. The transition of solving a puzzle is useless and annoying...probably also causes app bloat too.
The spark plug meter is hidden behind the skip button. Weak. Weak. Weak.
Tap areas within puzzles are placed poorly...it is too easy to back out of a puzzle or screen accidentally.
Almost like they made it harder to play on purpose!
Then...$2??? No thanks. Maybe...maybe at $1. Maybe.
But I didn't see enough in the preview to warrant the extra buck.
* and for those that can't find the spark plug...it is really pretty in your face. You actually can't go on without seeing it while you pick up other items. And it IS in the walkthrough. Look again.
Update...removed one star for having probably the WORST crime story solution EVER. Just such a dumb solution it was a waste of time.
