I have provided a virtual set of fraction bars on www.abcya.com for several years. Many teachers have contacted me about creating a similar application for the iPad. Here it is! I offer this app for free because virtual manipulatives alone do not provide meaning for learners; they require a teacher to guide meaning and connections.
A good feedback loop is essential to deliver the best results. I encourage adults to send your thoughts and suggestions on how to improve this app. To the best of my ability I will incorporate your ideas into subsequent versions to deliver what you want.

Great app but want more
The title of this app is plural - "manipulatives". I was hoping when I downloaded it that there would be more then just fraction bars. Some suggestions to add would be: money pictures (currency and coins), base ten blocks, Unifix cubes, counting bears, clocks with movable hands, number cubes, bag with colored chips for probability, thermometers where the temperature can be changed, pictures of different food and drink items or clothes to practice probability, a virtual scale that allows things to be added to each side and then it balances, measuring cups that can have pretend liquid added to them, etc…
Nice app with so many more possibilities that really could be used in a one-on-one classroom environment.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
