Good Fast Pace Simulation!!!

This game is more for those who have played at clubs (vs. in the garage). It requires much aggressiveness to win at the pro level. You really have to keep an eye on the ball, keep up with the pace, and loop (flick you finger) like crazy to defeat the opponents online. The sound is also in stereo; the pinging of the balls is appropriately positioned left or right of the speakers/headsets depending on where the ball goes.

Unfortunately, the simulation is limited to the fast pace top spin & looping attack style only-- but hey, that's how I play and that's why I like it. It lacks simulation for different service/return styles that exist in the real game. It also lacks the defensive slice/chop play. The spin effects are also harder to produce in this game vs. in real life. There is no simulation to the advantages and disadvantages of different styles of grips that I can notice. Lastly, I'd noticed a lot of online players somehow manage to cheat by a delayed return shot; I don't think it's a bandwidth problem because these particular opponents would flail their paddles actively but it takes a long delay before the ball returns.

On multiplayer, you slam the ball and think u easily won the point and so their fore are ready for the next serve only to be SURPRISED that your opponent hit the ball back ten-15 seconds later when ur not ready because u thought you won the point. The game has MUCH potential if they fix this issue AND the issue where your player "gets tired" so u can't play no more because he's out of energy UNLESS u PAY FOR more energy. I swear, if these app devs didn't get so fn greedy with their nickel and diming and if they had a good game then they'd make plenty of $ on the merits of the game itself instead of trying to rip off a few bucks here and their. I hope the devs listen because again, this game has massive potential. After playing many games their r so many hackers now. You slam the ball back and it litterally bounces off the floor on your opponents side but mysteriously gets hit back after it hits the floor. Then theirs theses cheaters who press "pause" in the middle of a heated competitive exchange and then when they un-pause the game theirs a slamming shot that theirs no way u can return. This game has much potential IF the devs stay ontop of the cheaters but so far it seems their biggest concern is $ and not the quality if the game. Don't buy til they fix these issues

This is one of the best sport games in the app store. Each sport must be judged individually according to it's parameters of play and presentation - so given the aforementioned criteria this ranks with Backbreaker football, Madden, Real Racing, Strike Knight, and various other high quality sport games presented with great graphics and realistic movement. I was surprised by this table tennis app because I was so used to clunky hard to maneuver tennis games whether table or regular tennis and so this was a welcome relief from those dashed expectations of the past. There are many games I love to play in real life and never feel that they are even remotely captured on the iPod/iPhone/iPad/ format; pool, bowling, darts, table tennis; etc. This table tennis app gives the feel of the real thing as closely as can possibly be hoped for. A hidden jewel. An unexpected pleasure.
