I hate PNC Bank!!
I have been a PNC Bank customer for four years and it is the worst! It really is not for small customers because if you're not making the kind of money where you can pay all your bills and still keep hundreds of dollars in the account then you'll never be able to cash a check. I don't care what kind it is or who it is from. I had to cash a state treasury check at another bank before because PNC wouldn't let me because I didn't have enough money in my account to cover the check. It doesn't matter how big or small the check is, you will have to go somewhere else to cash the check which is redundant, especially when some people only get bank accounts so they can cash checks without issue and or for free. The app is terrible. Crashes repeatedly. They told me to download it to deposit the checks so that I could have the money available immediately to me. After I finally got through the whole process without it crashing, I still couldn't get any cash and all I wanted was a little pocket change for the weekend. Plus, if it did do it, it was gonna charge me two dollars. For a dollar more, I could have just took the checks somewhere else and got them cashed. Pointless. I'm just done. Mother's Day weekend and thanks to my sorry bank I can't even make sure I have money in my pocket for it. This was last time going through this with PNC. I hope they get what they deserve!
Great concept and solid practical web interface with 1-2 issues
Virtual Wallet is an excellent idea and solid implementation. I could go on and on about it’s usefulness in tracking, organizing, and paying for expenses (bill pay is great!!) all integrated together. I have two minor issues ...1) the money bar feature is occasionally inaccurate, leading me to believe I have more money free to use than I do (thinking I had less would be the “better” error for not over-drawing). It happens for one day only sometimes when a “scheduled out” comes due but doesn’t yet show as “pending.” The “available” and “free” calculations suddenly inflate for a day (while the expected payout seems to be in no-mans land), before returning to an appropriate amount the following day. 2) the budgeting part of the web app doesn’t let me customize the date range for a month ... a problem for me since I get paid on the 30th of every month and spend that money the next month. It would be much more natural to plan the month’s expenses with the income from that day before the month started (as opposed to being “in the red” every month until the last day since it examines income to expenses). Other than those 2 things, it’s great!!’nn
Like it but....
I really like this app but.....
I don’t understand why there’s two separate apps.
The main website contains all the information that you need but it is not ideal for a mobile phone.
Each app has information that the other one doesn’t. You have to look at both apps each time you want to pay bills or reconcile your account.
It’s just easier to use the website on my phone even though it doesn’t work the best. One example is, if I click on a check number to find out what that check is for the pop-up box is hard to find and see on the phone.
Both don’t contain the actual calendar that you get on the main website and you can’t set up reminders.
It’s very frustrating especially when I do ALL my banking online. It seems like such a waste to have both apps when they are both not thorough. Although the virtual wallet app is definitely better than the PNC app.
I have spoken to someone at a branch and they gave me to a number to call. On that call I explained this situation. We even got on the different apps and website at the same time. She was able to see the differences. She stated that she would pass along the information. About 2 to 3 weeks later PNC did a update on the regular app and I was hoping that there would be at least some improvements but there was none!
So even though I’m not totally pleased with the apps I am pleased overall with the combination of the apps and the website.
It’s just too bad I have to use both apps to do what I need to do.
