Virtues Educator Cards

VIRTUES are the essence of who we are. They are the content of our character and the basis of genuine happiness.

The VIRTUES Educator CARDS are a powerful tool for strengthening school culture and climate, as well as to enhance your SEL, character education and restorative practices programs. The cards offer an opportunity to reflect on, practice and strengthen our qualities of character to transform our lives. THE SOURCE of the research and content of the Virtues

Educator Cards is The Virtues Project™, a global initiative, now in more than 140 countries. The
Virtues Project™ is endorsed by the Dalai Lama and was honored by the United Nations during the International Year of the Family as a "model global program for families of all cultures".

THE VIRTUES PROJECT INSPIRES INDIVIDUALS to live more authentic, joyful lives, FAMILIES to raise children of compassion and integrity, EDUCATORS to create safe, caring
and high performing learning communities & LEADERS to inspire excellence and ethics in the workplace.

The virtues cards were created by The Virtues Project Founders; Linda Kavelin Popov, Dr. Dan Popov and John H. Kavelin.

How to Use the Educator Cards:

There are many ways to use the Virtues Educator Cards: for guidance in making a decision, healing a relationship, clarifying our direction, or simply providing a spiritual focus for the day. They are a unifying activity when used in a sharing circle. When we receive a virtue, it is either
an affirmation or an invitation and sometimes both.

Below are just a few ideas…

For a Random Pick: Shake your device side to side, or click the icon in the lower left-hand corner. To flip to the back side of the card, click on the icon in the center of the lower navigation bar.

Personal Virtues Pick: Randomly pick a virtue. Read the card, and reflect on its meaning for you at this time. You may want to pose a question before you receive your card. Journal it and keep a record of the virtues that appear for you each day.

To Begin a Meeting: Invite someone to randomly pick a virtue and read it aloud. Use the pick to help focus the meeting. At the close of the meeting, ask how it was helpful. Start your day or week by picking one virtue for your team. Acknowledge each other when you see the virtue in action.

Sharing Circle: While sitting in a circle of family, friends, colleagues or community each person takes a turn to speak briefly about what is on his or her mind. Then the person randomly selects a card and reads it aloud, and shares how it speaks to them. The others in the circle listen in complete, respectful silence. When each person finishes sharing, others acknowledge a virtue they see in that person. "I see your (virtue) in the way you…;"

Amazing way to boost your day, and those of others!
Any time you or another are stuck or "Challenged" by something, pick a random card and see how it Empowers you!

I also love the "Share" function which lets you send a card to someone as a timely follow up to a conversation that makes a difference, especially if they start using the app to develop these Character Traits as well!!

Can you zoom? I'll give 5 stars for a zoom feature. I can hardly read these.

Great concept, failed execution

Great cards if the font was made legible. The font is ridiculously small.
