Needs some work
I found there is a music playlist function if you 1) create it on a pc and 2) use the iTunes interface to copy it to Dropbox. 3) Run VLC mobile selecting Dropbox. Oddly, I could not find where to create or access a playlist within the app music list itself. It is silly to expect the user to access for the next song each time one completes. This took a good hour trying, reverse engineering and online searching to figure just this much out. Will pay for some professional UI improvements, but only after they bring this past amateur ranking. Doncha hate it when you get used for beta testing?
Can't batch-move files to folders
As a user, I want to be able to click "edit," select multiple videos, click the folder icon, then select the folder to move these videos into. Unfortunately, the move-to-folder function exists but is broken. When you reach the last step and click the files you want to move the files to, it just returns you to the default view without moving anything.
Three stars for including functionality that is in fact broken.
Mostly functional but with some serious design flaws
Videos are often choppy and error-prone. The menu design is lacking and whenever you finish or back out of an episode, you are taken back to the main library directory rather than the directory where the file belongs. There is also (absolutely ridiculously) no confirmation prompt when you delete something, nor is there a way to undo accidental deletions. I just accidentally deleted a whole show rather than one episode thanks to this silliness. Absolutely inexcusable design.
