Voco is a touch-controlled phase vocoder for manipulating sampled sound.
The sound is mapped onto the screen, with time running left to right, and pitch up and down. By touching the screen the sound can be manipulated and played like an instrument.
Sounds can be sampled from the microphone, via Audiobus, or loaded from iTunes or AudioCopy.
What's New in Version 2.2
Audiobus 2.1, IOS 8 and inter-app audio support.
Using the previous version on an iPod Touch 4th Gen. Works like a charm. Astounding. Very versatile little toy. If you do electronic music, you NEED one. More stable in doing what the Kaoss Pad was doing with loops and samples, and more possibilities.
If you know the track "One Minute Warning" (by Brian Eno/U2/"The Passengers", also the end credits music for the first "Ghost In The Shell" movie, it can do what they did with the female vox sample, just as one for-instance.
I'd buy a premium, higher-priced version that a. permitted altering color schemes, b. had a more precise toggle for the loop time (in centiseconds, perhaps, to get better "stutter" or "grain synthesis"),c. was "universal" (thus more units, thus can really have fun onstage, rather than just be a studio tool) and d. could follow a "drawn" path for the Glide function. Also it would be cool if it were still backwards compatible with IOS 5 and 6.
Brilliant, works great
one of those rare apps that's actually worth the money
Takes your money and doesn't record. Keep going.
