New in version 1.2, it's easier than ever to stay in touch safely while on the go. vokul now supports Bluetooth headsets and in-vehicle systems* - it's the safest way to send a message while driving!
Unlike other voice control apps, vokul can be controlled entirely with your voice. vokul responds to your commands only when called upon – just say "hey vokul" to get vokul’s attention. You can even say commands while audio is playing, thanks to vokul's acoustic echo cancellation (AEC) technology.
With vokul, button presses and distracted screen glances are a thing of the past!
Examples (while audio is playing):
“vokul forward 30” : skips forward 30 seconds
“vokul back” : skips backward 15 seconds (configurable)
“vokul pause” : pauses playback
“vokul play podcasts” : starts playing podcasts; the most recent episode is played first
vokul works on iOS devices including the iPhone 3GS and later models, iPod touch 3G and later models (iPod touch 3G requires an external mic), and all iPad models. Supported freeform dictation languages include English and Spanish (Europa, Mexican, and U.S.).
Check out www.vokulnation.com for more information and videos showing vokul in action.
* Bluetooth operation is great for messaging; A2DP mode for music playback is NOT supported, due to iOS limitations.
Note: vokul currently does not support reading received text messages, due to limitations imposed by iOS.
Note: Starting with iOS 6, you must press 'send' to send a text message or email. This is due to iOS restrictions.
What's New in Version 1.2.12
Bug fixes for iOS 8.
+ Send button now shows correctly when sending an email/SMS.
+ Other minor bug fixes.
Great app, but there's a problem while using it with VoiceOver
I've enjoyed using this app for a long time, especially since I can listen to my Facebook and Twitter feeds while having a cup of coffee in the morning. However, with the latest version, I can't use the app after going through the usual tutorial. What happens is, after hearing it say that if I want to do the tutorial again to go to the help menu, the app freezes. And this causes VoiceOver, Apple's screen reader, to stop talking. This means I can't even close the app and use it in the background. It would be greatly appreciated for the developers to get this problem fixed as soon as possible.
1. Access to calendar and clock so we can say what do I have to do today or something
2. Makes a timer or something do we can say wake me up in an hour or whatever
3. Internet search without making it 17+
4. Access to photos so we can say open photos from July seventh two thousand and twelve or something
5. Make it read texts and emails that come in!!!!!!!!! Also make it where we don't click send!!!!!!! Please!!!!!!
Add those and this is a 5 or even a 10 star app. Right now it's a three.
Should be 4 stars but I cannot sign into Facebook in it. Please fix this glitch
Not hands free
After getting the text right, vokul just paste it in the Message app. I have to hit send. I wish it would send the message without have to touch the phone.
