Volume for iTunes

By Yogi Patel

Open the Mac App Store to buy and download apps.

Description

Volume for iTunes enables you to control your iTunes volume via the system volume.

If you're like me and play music through remote speakers, you know that the keyboard volume buttons don't do anything — they only change the system volume, not the music's volume*.

Now you can change iTunes' volume with the keyboard. No need to switch apps or find little volume adjusters.

*Note: to adjust system volume while Volume for iTunes is active, hold the command key while pressing the volume keys.

What's New in Version 1.2

✓ Fixes additional keys not working (brightness, forward, reverse, play/pause, etc). Sorry about that!

Great application but the volume keys become iTunes only and not for system

I wanted an application that runs in the background to be able to control the system volume and iTunes Volume combined. This application takes the system volume keys and only changes the iTunes volume and not the system volume too. Now everytime I want to change the system Volume I have to go in the System Preferences and look for the Audio Volume just to change the system volume.

The first time I downloaded this it allowed me to use the Volume Controls to adjust the iTunes Volume and the system volume simultanously.
The Update after that had some bugs.
The next update fixed the bugs but now you can't adjust system volume.

Please fix the bugs and release a new update. This is the second update that has bugs in it. Unless if that is this app's functionality but that makes this app useless to me. I am trying to use a shortcut to adjust the iTunes volume with the system volume.

Does exactly what it's supposed to do...

The name of the app is iTunes Volume Control, and that is exactly what is does, lets you control itunes volume using your keyboard or remote. Not "link iTunes Volume To System Volume" so i don;t know why that is what people are expecting it to do…. But this is perfect for me because for some weird reason, you can't change the system volume when you are using optical output, and i just got a remote for that reason so i could use my mac as a music player with the remote. so this app was the perfect quick, and permanent, fix. but for those people who still think this app is called "Link iTunes Volume to System Volume", maybe you should just add a simple option to do just that ;)

Close to being brilliant, but needs two simple features

The app overrides the default volume keys with no option to change that. i'd prefer the std vol keys be for std volume and then have cmd-vol_key be for controlling itunes. basically, swap what was done. or at least give us the option.
secondly, having some feedback that the key was hit is also a good idea. kind of like how it is when you change the volume today. even if it's just an audible beep. right now, you change the itunes volume and have to wait to see if it's the right volume b/c when playing via airplay (which this is used for), there's a delay.
after those are done, this would be a 5 star app.
