Vote California was developed and launched in 2016 in a collaborative effort by the California Secretary of State, The Pew Charitable Trusts and California counties. This app provides data from state and local election officials to provide official election information to citizens through a variety of means, including the Google Civic Information API. This app is designed to connect voters with the essential information they need to cast their ballots and provides nonpartisan tools for voters to find their polling place, see what will be on their ballot, and find contact information for their local elections official.
For general election information, please visit the California Secretary of State’s website at www.sos.ca.gov or call (800) 345-VOTE (8683). To register to vote online please visit RegisterToVote.ca.gov.

Works but Needs Improvements
The app works well, but needs some improvements.
To “Find Voting Locations,” you must select the “Where to Vote” icon on the bottom right-hand side of the screen after you have verified your home address. The Ballots icon on this screen, however, displays: “the ballot for this election is not available.” The Ballots information is available elsewhere within the app.
The Voter Information Guide –which includes information on propositions, candidate statements, Justices of the Supreme Court, and dates to remember – needs to be made easier to find. Currently, you have to dig through several links to find it.
PDF files are viewable within the app, but need to be made available for download into your device.
Address for voting
This app would be great with a few simple fixes, who programs an app that can not find a simple address! The full online site finds my address why can’t this one or at least give a hint on how to enter it! Needs more work! Frustrating 😡☹️
Does not recognize valid address; poor design
I wanted to find voting centers or polling places near me. I had to enter my address. There was no guidance on format, or separate fields for street, city etc., and it did not automatically populate the address as most decently designed apps do. I went ahead and entered, but got an error message saying the address was not valid and that I should check my voter status. Yes, I was registered and my address was in there. I tried again, entering the address using commas this time to separate street and city. Still got an error message. No help or customer service button, or any other recourse.
