Vtrace is a visual traceroute application that shows* a list of the network servers from your machine to a target ip address or hostname and it attempts to place each to their corresponding location on a map.
*The ability to show and determine hops depends on your network's routing policies, if the packets are filtered no hops can be determined.

App won’t recognize loc services are on
Keeps telling me I did not allow Location to be used even though I did. Worse, there are no prefs to go in and toggle it to make sure it was set. System prefs show the app has been allowed access to location so this is an app error.
Need to have a DNS or PTR to use...
This tool is usless for me. You need to have a PTR record or DNS record associated tot he test ip to start the test. Many times, I only have an IP and the hops within the traceroute will tell me what I need to know as far as location. I wasted my money….
Works great for showing my students how internet routing works
Works great on my Air with Mavericks. No problems mentioned in the previous reviews. As soon as the route trace is finished, you can put in a new IP or domain name to trace the next route without restarting the program. Great little program for a good price.
