Ratings and Reviews
Great product, flaky app, horrible support
I hardly ever write reviews, but I had to this time.
I’ve had Vumber since it first came out years ago. It is a very handy tool and I use it daily. The service itself is fantastic, but the app has been buggy for the past year and a half or so. I reported 2 issues and had to keep inquiring when they might be fixed. It took about 6 months until the next release was issued to fix the bugs, but then a new bug appeared that only shows the first line in a text as you’re typing (so you can’t see what you’ve written or if you’ve misspelled anything). I alerted support about new bug and although several months have passed and others have complained here, it has yet to be fixed.
I now wanted to add a number to my account and cannot do that. Have emailed them, used the online contact form and have left 2 message and have not gotten a response. It’s crazy to me when I’m trying to provide them with more business and still can’t get a reply.
If Vumber could fix the app and support issues, this would be one of the best products out there. At this point however, I can’t recommend it and in fact we are currently searching for an alternate solution. It’s a shame since it’s very handy and works well as a phone system. Hopefully someone can come in, fix the issues and turn things around. If not, then I too will be gone.
If you text often, this is NOT for you + App crashes often
I work in sales and it’s critical to be able to have multi touch abilities including text messaging. Vumber’s native text feature is among the least UX friendly.
As you type you can only see the first few words and as you continue to type you pretty much have to hope that you’re typing grammatically correct because you can’t see anything but the first line of text.
Not to mention you only get 160 character per text message, so I’ve had to actually write my texts in notepad and parse out the messages which can be annoying to someone who’s phone is not on silent getting multiple dings when it more than likely could’ve been one text.
Great app for dating
Has been great in weeding out the psychos now that I’m back on the dating scene and you get to the point of not chatting via the Match app. One improvement would be ability to add contacts in a self contained list within Vumber that are separate and not needing phone contact list.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
