Warbands:Bushido is an online miniatures board game with cards, miniatures, dice and beautiful terrains to fight on, with both multiplayer battles boardgamers are used to, and challenging single-player scenarios.

Game has an isometric, tabletop-style look with miniature-style characters, cards, dice, pre-rendered battlefields and story-mode locations. There will be more than 50 various paintable units and heroes planned for a full-scale release and later additions. Single-player scenarios with their own characters and events, are highly influenced by classic tactical turn-based RPGs. While multiplayer skirmish will let you test your skills in best traditions of tabletop wargame classics like Warmachine or Mordheim with a fast-paced Hearthstone-like gameplay.

Beautiful, but unplayable game.

I'm appending my previous review (below), after discovering a way to mitigate the problem of the game being unresponsive. Although it's not ideal, exiting the game and restarting helps for a while. Hopefully an update will be released soon to address the bugs, but I'm glad I've found a way to play in the meantime.

I really want to love this game, but just can't in its current state. The artwork is simply gorgeous, but the game gives the impression that there was little or no bug testing prior to the game's release. After a couple of session restarts, I was finally able to make it through the tutorial. Unfortunately, I've not been able to play beyond that. My attempts to play result in buttons mysteriously accepting taps sometimes only sporadically. Most often, buttons are completely unresponsive. Even quitting the game, restarting -- and even rebooting my iPad Air -- results in mysteriously mixed results for taps. Hopefully a bug fix will be released very soon. Until then, I'm sad about the squandered potential for a beautiful and promising game.

Update: Just one last question.. Was your device on charge, while you played?

FrankWimmer, thanks! We have an iPad Air as a testing device, not sure what could go wrong. Update is incoming..

A sad broken joke

I was looking forward to playing this and excited to try it.
But after playing it becomes apparent very quickly that this is broken and possibly unfinished. The game is built entirely around in app purchases but they forgot to put them in.
So that's the sad joke a game with potential becomes a boring and repetitive grind fest instead. As the only way to get in game money is not through the campaigns you have to buy at 100 in game currency but though multiplayer. You can only get in game money by playing multiplayer over and over. This would be fine if you didn't have to buy everything in the game. Cards new units even campaigns all cost in app money you get from multiplayer grinding. And you only get in game money through multiplayer quests or achievements (i.e. Kill x units, deal x damage) and a small amount for winning. But the rewards are by far to small to support the in app purchases economy they built.

Fun miniatures-style skirmish game.

Game Ogre

The game is quite enjoyable. The rules are easy to learn. Match times can vary. I'll spend a few secessions today playing quick matches. I'm a huge fan of Tabletop miniatures games, so this is right up my alley. I like that it is not Pay-to-Win since there is no real money transactions. I do wish I could play offline. Sometimes I don't have Wi-Fi.

Edit: Yesterday I reviewed that I had a problem with getting Coins. Turns out there are Quest that can be done daily to earn Coins, and can be achieved though the Training Skirmishes. I'm an idiot. Did have a little problem with Quest not counting wins, but that seems to have solved itself.

Developer Response

Thanks a lot, Game Ogre! Offline mode will be added a bit late, but we're working on that.
