Customer Reviews

Mixed opinion

First things first. The fact that there is a watchEspn app is fantastic. It provides access to sporting events in great detail when no cable service is available.
For myself, being able to see cricket matches in their entirety is absolutely great. Cricket is the sport I grew up with and the coverage of the test matches in England this summer has been superb. Now for my reservations: I cannot believe how often the same commercials and PSAs are repeated. Makes viewing a nuisance. Worse even is that these interruptions come at crucial moments when we are shown a replay or hear some very insightful commentary on what is happening in the game. It is as if whoever operates the channel has no appreciation for the game or its viewers.
But, bottom line, I am glad watchEspn exists. Very glad.

Lots of content not available on TV!

Excellent that there's lots of additional content to what is available through the cable channels. There's content relevant pretty much for every sport fan. Filtering by sport and remembering when I get back after days makes it easy to use.

Make it better by enabling commentators language choice when available. (e.g. The Rugby Championship has excellent commentators in Spanish when broadcasted in Latin America). It would also be great to include the usual post game interviews / press conference). A big bonus would be some sort of chat / blog for viewers to comment during / after the game.

Update: I wrote this review ages ago, but the same problem persists. I'm trying to watch the England-Pakistan on Repeat, but it keeps freezing up at the same point. Why hasn't this been fixed??!!!! Then I get 'there's a problem plying this video" - really? I hadn't noticed. Hire someone who knows what they're doing, for crying out loud!!! BTW, these people don't read reviews and address the problems- they release an update that says, "bug fixes', but they never actually fix the bugs.
Abysmal - Constant buffering after commercials. Then, it craps out completely. Picture is good, but frequent, annoying snafus make watching cricket tortuous
