Wayward Souls is an action-adventure game built for quick playthroughs and massive amounts of replay value. It was inspired by Spelunky, Secret of Mana, and our previous game, Mage Gauntlet.
Procedurally generated random levels mean that every time you play the game, it's a different experience. Control one of six characters, all with their own unique playstyles, abilities, and equipment. Explore and fight for survival, in combat where your tactics, positioning, and timing matter.

- 13 area types, all with different monsters, potential traps, and rare encounters.

Ye' of little faith..
First of all, cheers to the devs for a great game. Mechanically, atmospherically, and in terms of content, this game is well-worth 5 stars.
This is especially notable when you appreciate the fact that it was essentially made by 3 people. THREE! What this means is that the company is small, and has a limited amount of resources to devote to changes. Changes like bugs. Despite this fact, people tend to assume that they are wasting their money by purchasing this game- as if the developers are simply raking in money and spitting on customers and their (legitimate) complaints.
The fact is, they have been incredibly active in alerting us to the progress being made in regard to fixes, and answering questions and complaints via social media.
Sure, it's frustrating to pay a premium price for a game that has been hit with two consecutive annoying bugs, but if 6.99 is such a dire amount of money for you to be MOMENTARILY jipped on, then perhaps a little glitch in a mobile video game should be the least of your worries.
Frustrating lack of quality
This game could be great and should be great for the price they are asking. When the iOS8 save data bug happened I was upset but I saw they were fixing it so I decided to not leave a negative review. I now have that update but there is a new problem. I was finally able to beat the 3rd stage today and when I go to exit the stage the game crashes and the achievement is lost. This is too much for me. Maybe at $1 this would be acceptable but for $6 I expect to be able to play the game without losing progress all the time. I cannot recommend this game since the developers appear to not test their product and then charge a premium for it over other games.
Great game, one crucial bug
The game is intense. It is definitely skill dependent due to the lack of heals mid-level. The monsters get more tricky and powerful while the items stay stagnant. It has 5 stars in my book, but only if they fix the bug.
DEVELOPERS!
There is a glitch that crashes the game before you enter the last stairway after beating a boss. This is such a demoralizing thing to happen after all the intense dodges I had to perform. Thanks for all yalls hard work and keep it up with games like these. I will support yall till the end!
