Customer Reviews

I used to love it

I was a huge fan of Waze, but after the last update or two, some things have changed-and not for the better. The audible directions have become sporadic, which means I have to stare at the map on the phone in order to figure out where to go. This is not safe and exactly the reason that I want a talking map app! It's particularly bad when I'm just starting a trip, and since Waze is slow to reroute if I veer off course, it can be very difficult & frustrating to get going in the right direction. The audibles have also gotten generic- now it says "hazard ahead" instead of identifying the hazard. I'd like to know if it's a stopped vehicle, debris, pothole, or etc. a generic hazard warning doesn't let me be prepared for an actual hazard. Same thing is happening with the directions too. Now it says "turn right in one quarter mile" instead of telling me the distance AND the name of the street, exit, whatever. This is very unhelpful when driving in town and I don't have a good idea of distance, especially since the spoken words are often rather too late for my taste. Usually I can see the street sign before Waze tells me to turn Right Now At This Moment, so I'm prepared. This doesn't work when I don't know what street to look for. And since it is slow to reroute... The problem compounds itself. That said, it is nice to have the real time reports from other drivers, and it's no worse than other maps apps I've tried.

BEST map app but could use one change!!!

We love the app and I use it almost daily for traffic and alerts mainly. It is fun and easy to use. I will continue to use it and I will
continue to recommend it to people unhappy with current mapping app. I have used it for long enough now that I have a very high rank but those travelled miles and "👍🏽" I receive do not seem to help the apps main issue, which are the three routes it offers. Waze says that by just "using the app" will help aid the app to know your favorite or normal routes. This does not happen. I drive to the same few locations and use the same route every time, unless there is an accident or backup. It will not even show my preferred route to start, but again, I take it every time. Even if I try to reroute midway, it still won't show it. I think you should be able to set one "preferred route" and it give you three other routes against your preferred. No matter how many times I've contacted Waze regarding my travel routes not showing up, they say the same thing and it doesn't work. If you can't pull up the route you prefer to start how can you know the travel time or delays? It's the only frustrating thing about Waze. Otherwise, it's my most used app!!

Fix text bug

I once liked using the app and using its features until it update. The traffic's status were always up to date (when using a fast reliable internet service) and I could simply report conditions. The design was also simple to use and was modern. I could also send my friends, especially if they are not using an iPhone, my location in real time. I could also import and invite friends from Facebook and from my contacts list. The audio settings for navigation were easy and used to not interfere with phone calls or stop playing music you were listening to, unless you wanted to (which you could change in settings). As the update continued, the text of street names were overlapping. To make it worse, the white font while navigating makes it harder to identify the street name as they are within the framing of text of street names. Please fix this frickin bug and I will rate this app 5-stars. I would also appreciate if there's also a button to report the limit without reporting it as a map issue. For the moment, I would NOT recommend this app for navigation. To report or to see rod conditions, I still recommend it.
