Weather Widget Live ‪+‬ 4+

I like to know the weather for the next few days to plan indoor versus outdoor activities. For the last few years I have been using two weather widgets and I find this Weather Widget Desktop the most useful and user friendly, plus it doesn’t crash llike the other one. I will agree with another user that the dropdown from the menu bar does have the daytime high and low reversed and is confusing until you’ve figured out they are in the reverse order of when they actually happen (tonight’s low is listed before today’s high). The large display you get has all the information I need and want for the next seven days and the menu bar readout is perfect for current conditions at a glance. I really like the feature that lets me load weather for different cities as I have family in different parts of the country and I can see with a single click what their weather is like.

I got the paid v to replace Apple’s Dashboard widget that died years ago. I work on a ranch, so I have to be exquisitiely tuned in to the weather on an hour-to-hour basis. For the first few days, I checked the app’s data against The Weather Channel, which I consulted every day. I still use TWC for hourly forecasts, but I love the WeatherWidget in my Menu bar. There are a couple of UI things I would do differently, like put the overnight low *after* the daytime high in the dropdown from the Menu Bar in the format x/y where x = daytime high and y = overnight low, but not a major functional issue. It’s just confusing when you want to know whether to blanket your horse at night or not!

This app works mostly well and is very helpful in forecasting weather for both my city and other cities I might visit or want to know what the weather is there. I like the hourly weather reports for today and the daily reports for the next 10 days. Forecasts are generally quite accurate, but not always. I'm not sure how the accuracy compares to other weather forecasts. I installed this app because Apple got rid of its weather app with the newer OS operating software, along with various other useful apps on the iMac (calendar, calculator, etc). How annoying of Apple!!! I have been using the free version of the Weather Widget, not that paid version, for quite some time now, and am happy with it. One minor complaint is the frequent requests to get the paid version.
