Customer Reviews

Good app, but?

I don't usually write reviews, but couldn't resist with this one. Overall I like the way it's laid out and it seems to be accurate but it becomes irrelevant when the most annoying issue is that when coming back to the app after a time period or when relaunching, it resets all of my preferences for the "Radar" section, such as opacity or my settings with all current temps displayed or weather stations displayed, turning off the info pointer, etc. Also, when I set it to home it always zooms out and then I have to manually zoom back in. Another issue is that it tends to be slow to respond to selections. Now why would anyone want to spend the time resetting things they have already set the way they want. So I will wait a while to see if this gets rectified and if it isn't corrected, I will be forced to delete the app since I don't need that kind of aggravation. Fix these issues and you might get "5" stars.

I thought it would be important to note that I am having these issues only on the iPad version, and the iPhone version seems to have no issues and is laid out in a cleaner way and works better.

This is one of the 3 best weather apps

Ipad2 &iphone 5 (iOS 7.0.4). For different reasons, I also now use WeatherBug Elite & Yahoo Weather Apps. I gave up on this app for awhile, but he problem with initial image "sticking" during the animation has finally been fixed. However the locator still is not accurate; it shows I am in the center of the county & metro city, but I am about 10-12 miles away in the eastern part of the county. I really like the "drag" indicator, so I can drag over the map or satellite images and see more pinpoint readings of rainfall rates (or temperature gradients). On the iPhone, I prefer no advertisements, but that is not likely going to happen. At least the ads could be on or about the local Belo TV station (I still also use the radar maps & weather forecast of that local TV station which is also good).

Easy to use and ACCURATE

I had been using another weather ap but was disappointed in the forecasts being so inaccurate. With a recent round of freezing precip coming into the area, I decided to download 4 more weather aps and see which was the most accurate. The forecasts were all over the board. (At times I wondered if they had fired their meteorologist and were just using a "magic 8 ball!"). While not perfect, this was definitely the most accurate of the bunch. It's also easy to use and gives a good amount of information. I'm declaring it the *WINNER* of my 2014 Texas weather-ap ice storm challenge.
(My only grip is with the hourly forecasts. They are still way off, but this is true of all the weather aps I tested.)
