Latest update restores its glory
I've been using WeatherMan for years now, and it's by far my favorite weather app on MacOS. I recently migrated to a new MBP, though, and the previous version seemed to have an issue with city lookups -- making it impossible to enter new locations. This version fixes that, thank goodness! Now I can dump all the other apps I was testing as replacements, and return to the original I know and love.
killing my CPU
Lately, I'm finding that Weatherman is freezing up and absolutely murdering my processor. The Mac becomes slow and unresponsive, then I look and find that Weatherman is using like 90% of a processor. I have to force quit it to get my resources back. Not good!
My old review is below.
I have WeatherMan installed on several Macs and have been using it for a number of years. It can be a little clunky to set up, but I find it generally quite reliably puts the current temperature up in my menu bar.
Is there the occasional glitch? Sure, but then again let's remember an app like this is pulling in data from external sources and there are bound to be glitches occasionally.
THIS USED TO BE A GREAT APP
I used to love this app. It was great for having the weather right on the tool bar of your mac. However lately it won’t give me the weather from today. It only tells me the weather from yesterday. I click update now, to get up to the minute weather, and still it only tells me what the weather was yesterday. I hope they fix it soon.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
