WeathrClip is a small weather application that resides in the menu bar of your Mac. The popover provides current weather conditions, 5 day forecast data, hourly forecast, and an animated radar of your current location or user defined location. WeathrClip features high quality icons to support retina screens. And don't forget that WeathrClip is also available for the iPhone. All weather data provided by the Weather Underground.

Annoying error notifications
It’s an OK app, but one thing it does is annoying enough to make me stop wanting to use it. For some reason it apparently sometimes has trouble getting the weather data, and when that happens, it pops up a window telling me something to the effect of “can’t get weather for this location, please choose another location”. Thereby interrupting whatever I'm doing, forcing me to click to make the dialog go away, and being very unhelpful (I don’t WANT weather for another location!), and all needlessly so — If I’m not looking at the weather, I don’t particularly care that it is having trouble getting the weather, right? It could just put “??” up in the menu bar and give you an error message if you click on that to look at the weather. Otherwise why annoy the user? I’m tired of it. And really all I want is the temperature in the menu bar anyway; I can easily get weather details in my browser when I need them.
Best Menu Bar weather app
I’ve been looking for a great weather app at a reasonable price ever since Weatherbug stopped working in my menu bar. I came across Weathrclip and thought thos would do the trick, and it did except for one problem. Even though I had the logon at startup checked, Weathrclip just wouldn’t start up.
A quick email to the author with a very quick response told me that to solve this problem, all I had to do was manually add WeathrClip to your login items in System Preferences. This took about 15 seconds, and now WeathrClip starts each time I have to re-boot.
Thanks for a great app, Gavin, and thanks for the great support!
Problems Finding Location
Chronic problems finding my location which creates annoying JSON fetch error notifications. Relaunching the app seems to fix it for awhile, but it comes back. I downloaded a different weather app and will use that until this problem is fixed. I prefer Weathrclip for its quick, at-a-glance colors and radar images, but I’ll make do with a different, free one until it’s reliably functional again.
