Incredibly annoying Watch app

I live in China and this app is basically necessary to have any sort of social or professional life in China and while the design occasionally makes my head hurt and my eyes bleed, it works and works fairly well EXCEPT for the absolutely trash Watch app. It’s pretty clear that the developers or execs or whoever decided to revamp the Watch app from what it was last year have never actually used the Watch app extensively. Having my wrist buzzed when EVERY SINGLE person messages me, unless I’ve muted them on the phone app, is infuriating. I have to uninstall the app to not constantly get pinged throughout the day. Sure, I could mute them in the main app, but that’s not a reasonable solution for a messaging app, to mute everyone. Neither is having to put my Watch into DND several times every day. The previous functionality of the Watch app, setting favorites whose notifications go through to the Watch, was FAR superior from a functionality standpoint for a device like the Watch. I really hope they make a change to how it operates, because at this point, they may as well just not have a Watch app.

Great improvements since I originally downloaded

I’ve seen a drastic improvement in the overall app since I began using it 7 months ago. The English version is getting great attention - which I appreciate.
I only have one suggestion and hope for a future update. As someone who is still learning Chinese, the in-chat translate option is a dream. As I find myself in multiple group chats for work where all conversation is in Chinese, I use this feature quite a lot. I do find it annoying having to tab across every time to reach this feature as it is the last option. If there was a way to re-arrange the options when selecting a message/text (for example translate would appear first and be the largest icon rather than copy or multi select(which I rarely ever use).

Overall great app - hope to see the continuous improvements in the future.

Life Saver

I moved to China to start teaching English 6 months ago. WeChat was something I needed to have in order to find the great position I have now. It allows me to seamlessly communicate with friends and family back home, as well as new friends and colleagues here in China. Messaging, audio, and video chat are almost always clear with little issue, even when communicating halfway across the world. WeChat pay has made my life virtually cashless as I am able to simply pay using the app everywhere. I have also made many friends through sharing WeChat QR codes on the street and being added to groups. I would probably not have had as easy of a transition to working in China without the app and furthermore I wouldn’t have had half as much fun.
