Weddar is the first weather service powered by people.

In Weddar you have real people reporting on how the weather feels, not machines, bringing a personal touch to weather services.

Press Bits:

“Weddar Report: iPhone App Is Twitter for Weather”; “Think of Weddar, which launches today, as something like FourSquare or Instagram, only for weather”; “a simple, easy interface.”

The NewYorkTimes
“The clever interface and remarkably simple user experience provided by Weddar, along with the usefulness of its feature set guarantee we’ll see uptake expand steadily across the world as more people discover this App Store gem”

“Weddar’s greatest quality is that it’s hyper-local”; “...the app’s crowdsourced and mobile nature could give it an edge if the idea takes off with enough iPhone users”;

Gizmodo (App of the Day)
“The app's is nicely designed and the UI for reporting the weather is simple and attractive. So that's good!”

C NET Asia
“If you find weather reports with their temperature and humidity readings confusing, you might prefer Weddar.”

Trend Hunter
“Crowdsourced weather information from a free app—sign me up.”

Instead of the usual and generic “New York, 93º f, 73% humidity, NE light wind.” reports, in Weddar, someone, somewhere in Central Park will tell you that the weather “Feels Perfect”, while another one near the river will tell you that it “Feels Good but windy”, because weather conditions really are different within the same city.

If you have an iPhone, iPod Touch or an iPad, you can now contribute location-based weather reports from where you are.

You can also make “Weddar Requests” for specific places anywhere you’d like to go or when planning your vacations anywhere in the world. A “Weddar Reporter” will answer it.

After more than 750.000 Reports in 13.300 locations of 147 countries around the world, the Weddar community is growing stronger each day.

With the new update, Weddar is now available in English, Portuguese (from Portugal and Brazil), Japanese, French, Spanish, Korean, Italian, German and Hungarian.

So... How does it feel? :)

What's New in Version 1.9.7

So, this just happened:

It might sound lazy since we took so long, but we have a good excuse for it. Since the beginning in 2011 (yeah, time flies...), we've always wanted people to do their Weddar Reports® outside, that's why we've kept this iPhone-only approach for so long. The thing is, people change. We have actual numbers to prove that lots of people use their tablets outside nowadays, so:

— Weddar for iPad!

****ba dum tss**** :)

If the things people put on the internet are anything to rely on, it seems that Einstein was once caught saying "Make things simple, BUT NOT simpler". People keep bringing this up when trying to sound smart about "whatevers"... Honestly, we're not big fans of it. Even at the expense of coming out as absolutely arrogant pricks, we have to respectfully disagree with Herr Albert since we definitely think that you can actually "Make things simple, AND EVEN simpler". That's why:

— Removed features that no one actually uses, making Weddar even _ _ _ _ _ _ _.

Polishing an app is like what Ben Harper used to say about Jah work... "It's never done", that's why:

— More UI tweaks.

It's a big world outside. We figured that our map was a bit too focused on just your surroundings instead of showing you the bigger picture, so:

— A slightly zoomed out map as default.

And just because ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

— More bug squash.

Granted, we've been talking about this for a long time. It might sound as vapourware by now, but we're hopeful that we can bring a really big update to the app later this year. We're even considering calling it Weddar 3.0 instead of the logical Weddar 2.0 since there's so much effort being put into it, so please:

— Be patient. You're going to love Weddar 2. Or should we say... Weddar 3.

Last but not least, we've never asked for it before but... erm... if you have 43 secs to spare:

— How about writing a nice little review about our effort to make the "Best real people weather service in the world" on the App Store?

Please? :)
