Necessary Evil

This app is like a butter vitamin that you need to take and makes no effort to make itself palatable. The UI for this app has always been pretty bad. It's better than it used to be but still a far cry from great. It also makes you manually download updates for service changes every time you check it. I don't know any other app that makes you do that. Is there really no way to make the info just refresh instead of having to wait 30 seconds to "download" if my train isn't running this weekend?

Back In Service

I am so happy that the MTA finally fixed this app. It was great when it came out and I was so disappointed when it stopped working when iOS 8 was released. I will be using the app again as often as I used to.

A map with no key

Whoever made this map forgot to include the key. I feel that's mapmaking 101.

Also, why is the MTA using a system map that looks nothing like the other maps in service? I feel like someone at the MTA is trying to be kewl. Like "yo! We have an app on phones! That's tech! Tech is cool! Let's scrap out map and make it minimalistic funky4fones!"

On the flip side, it would be wonderful if MTA actually made the stations as clean as this map.
