HD Gameplay Trailer: http://vimeo.com/96279688
Back in 1849, when the West was Wild and gunslingers faced off on the street, gold was discovered in the sleepy town of Sunset Bluff. Like a coyote drawn to the scent of blood, the Quicksilver Bandits rode into town to seize the mines and establish the law of the gun. The helpless citizens have suffered, and now they're looking to you, their savior.
"Western 1849" is a third-person shooter that takes you through progressively-challenging gunfights across various locations. Immersive graphics with toon shaders, old school weapons and touch-intuitive gameplay are geared to provide hours of fun. The primary goal of the game is to survive as many days as you can while the enemies get meaner. Rage mode is key for survival.
Rage Mode: Rage mode instantaneously increases the pace of the game while making you invincible. To enter rage mode, you have to quickly eliminate enemies while filling up the rage meter. Once in rage mode, it will continue to last if you keep quickly shooting enemies. So make sure you don't let your rage down! Happy Hunting!
In-App Purchases: The game features in-app purchases for weapons upgrades and unlocks. However, play skillfully and you may not need to spend a dime. Unless, you want to access the "Mysterious Weapon of Doom!". The more you play, the better the experience gets.
* Fast-paced old-school shooting
* Four beautifully crafted locations
* Precision shooting mechanics
* Mesmerizing toon shaded graphics
* Engaging voice-overs
* Realistic rag-doll physics
* Numerous weapon types and upgrades
* Global competition on leader-boards

Exciting but not long term
This is a good shooter game with awesome graphics. But here's the thing that made me stopped playing. I used to play it everyday but since I reach above 50 in-game days, I find there's no way to stay alive without spending money. At first I am glad to try again and again when I died because I know I can do better and I did until I reach 51 day or so. There's just no way, I tried everything and every time I push no further around there. So what is the point of play it from day one again if you know you have to die at about the same point. I suggest that instead of blindly adding the number of enemies day by day(which reach an unbelievable amount for one man to handle in later days). You should actually make levels and not just the same places over and over and the bandits number different. Drop the days count and actually make levels to pass and each level gets more difficult in more ways not just adding enemy number.
The 1800's are back with Western
Bang! What an amazing gunslinger with an authentic look, feel, and sound of the dirty ol' days of the Wild West. Loved the game. Kept me addicted and engaged all night. The shooting mechanics and precision are excellent. Really like the way the game gets tougher as one plays on. Liked the shotguns and the maskets in particular. The developers have packed in a lot of punch in 99 cents. One does not need In App Purchases for atleast 20 hours of game play. Also, I love the physics and the dynamite option. All in all a great game and I would surely recommend everyone to play it. Much better than all the freemium laggy shooters out there.
Great game at the beginning!
For someone who loves Western games and has spent many hours playing games like aOutLaws (by Lucas Arts) this game is great fun and a perfect old west silly stile. And addictive..but the levels progress much faster then the winnings and this quickly leads to having to buy coins or else that's endgame! Plus, there are only three maps? Need to make more map-packs and sell these for extra profit instead of infinite in-app purchases! I do like that it's not poorly made like the free games.. But stop with the forced purchases.
