Perfect Game For The Ipod Touch!
I got this game because I was a huge fan of the Westward series for the PC. This game ports over perfectly and doesn't disappoint. It's every bit as fun as the original game, easy and intuitive to pick up on and the sounds, although repetitive, are charming in their own right. If you like strategy/simulation games like Age of Empires, then you'll enjoy this. Instead of the emphasis being on battling and building up a colony, Westward puts the emphasis on building a colony and managing resources. All in all it's a great game that will provide hours and hours of entertainment! If you're looking for a great strategy game that has a unique feel and decent graphics then Westward is for you!
This is one of the best games i have decided to spend my money on. I wasn't sure at first whether to spend my good money on this because i would usualy be let down and later find it was a rip off, but i decided to go eith the reviews and buy it. It turned out to be one of the best games i spent $5.00 on. The only thing i would like a whole lot is if you could make your own town from scratch like on Sim City. Other than that, it was worth every penny!
Intriguing but ultimately boring?
Maybe I am the wrong target audience for this game, but I just found it boring. The graphics are terrific, and the theme well implemented. The controls are well thought out but tend to be a little difficult to work with and oddly laid out. The humor is sophomoric at best. I am deleting it without finishing it because it just is not that much fun to play, for me.
If you like exploring and building and worrying about resources (the current RTS scheme) then this might be the game for you. It is not 'fast paced' so can be played at leisure and is very good looking.
