Fun at first, not very balanced

I only found out about Westworld after Bethesda sued them for copying fallout shelter. Well, fallout shelter is my favorite contemporary game (I've spent more on it than any other modern game) and I like the show (yet I never heard about this game... terrible marketing), so I had to check it out. First off, while there are some graphic elements similar to fallout shelter (the 2.5d view), that's where the similarity ends. It's like saying super Mario brothers copied Sonic the hedgehog just because they're both scrollers. Yes, I said that as I mean it because just as SMB isn't as nice as Sonic (because it's older), WW doesn't do the 2.5d interface as nicely as FS -- in particular it doesn't zoom seamlessly. More importantly, the gameplay is completely different -- the leveling is different, the character attributes and interactions are different, the gameplay is different, and overall, WW didn't do a great job of these things. There's lots of great attention to detail that fans of the show will love, but after that wears off it becomes really monotonous to level characters, especially with them glitching from regular use and then having to analyze them. Some of the elements like critical analysis are really poorly integrated, and the 40 host limit is stiffiling to progress. It's a fun distraction, but I probably won't be playing it after I catch up with the S2 finale.

Good story, gameplay needs lots of work

First off, the design of this game is well done. The graphics are pretty neat, and everything flows smoothly. There are multiple improvements though that need to be made if this app is more than just a fan grab from an HBO show. The story line is hard to follow because it’s mostly motivated by missions, which don’t really go in order. Instead of allowing players to work on all of the objectives at once, which is confusing and hard to manage, there should instead be 1-3 at a time to control gameplay. The interactions are cool, but the leveling system is super broken. I completed Sweetwater easily, and I can please all of the hosts, but any of the other locations I unlocked have too high leveled guests to make positive interactions. This leaves players at a point where they have to slave away to rank up many hosts just to get to reasonable levels. There definitely needs to be a much more gradual working into the harder parts of the game. If these problems don’t get resolved soon, it won’t really be worth playing more than a month, and I’m sure most players will agree.

I think some reviewers didn’t even play

Directive Nineteen

Gems come easily just by doing tasks so there really isn’t a pay wall unless you want to buy shiny bots instead of just collecting them naturally. It’s easy to keep going just repair your bots after each mission 3 star bots & under are insta fix 4 star is 1 min and you can bypass the last minute 5 star is 2 mins.

You can literally play non stop for hours using that technique. Save your host cards until you hit 10 to mass produce bots. And upgrading bots is pretty easy just try and match like bots as much as possible because they give you bonuses ex if you have 2 one star Brutus bots merge them to get a bonus to the bot.

It’s an easy and fun time waster. My only complaint is that they take too long to add new content and raising the control room level. I’ve been stuck at the max control room level for a month now. Please release new content or at least let us continue leveling the control room.
