What's on iTunes
By Imre Katai
Open the Mac App Store to buy and download apps.
Have you ever wondering why don't the status bar displays the iTunes track data? If yes, then this is the app for you. :)
For some reason, Apple did not include this feature into the great Mac OS X. With What's on iTunes you can select the data to display. Just that. Simply.
You can select:
- Album title
- Play count
You can select the separator character, and even the text color and background color. Moreover you can control iTunes with the basic play control buttons.
One of its kind
This is exactly what I wanted. There's another app like this, but it requires that you leave the title and control on the screen. I didn't want my screen clogged up like that. So, I got this app that puts the title in my menu bar. Longer titles will scroll and it's a bit choppy…but it's not distracting nor ugly looking. I like that I can change the color of the text. I got it to match my background and I love looking at it :) I gave 4 stars because the scroll feature isn't as smooth as it could/should be.
Almost a great app
This would be a great app if you had the option of stopping the text from bouncing back and forward if the the title is too long for the space and just have it centered in the menu bar. Also the play controls dont blend in well and are kind of ugly sitting in the menu bar when iTunes is not open or playing.
very, very good
Just what I was looking for. All I need is to be able to rate songs and be able to go to the info box. Nice job! Definitely filled my need.
