What's New in Version 1.1
Minor bugs fixed...
Not what I expected but has a lot of pluses
2 issues with this app: 1. I thought it would be more like HopStop was but for disabled riders; providing directions to get from point A to point B using only accessible stations. I expected more of a navigation tool. THAT would be truly helpful. 2. I discovered an error within seconds of opening the app; the station at 71st/Continental Avenue in Forest Hills IS fully accessible now; an elevator was installed a couple of years ago. This needs to be updated.
The photos of the elevators ARE helpful though and it does have its merits. Great to get notifications on outages as well (which are frequent and not always clear on the MTA site). And the reporting feature is excellent too. Would love to see the app developed further; great potential!
This app solved a real need for me, and does exactly what I need it to ! While it's hard to believe, the MTA does not offer any clear communication in this area, and this app is very clear on maintenance and which subways have elevator access at each station (tricky to navigate otherwise!). This Thanksgiving, I will be giving thanks for the Wheely NYC app.
Basic, but good
Very helpful app to see which subway stops include elevators and ADA accommodation. Thanks for building the app!
